Postie is a native macOS Gmail client. It runs entirely on your Mac and connects directly to Google's servers. There is no Postie server, and the developer does not receive, collect, or store your data.
When you sign in, Postie requests these Gmail permissions:
gmail.modify to read your mail and to archive, trash, star, and mark mail as read or unreadgmail.send to send mail you composeYour mail is used only to display it in the app and to perform the actions you request. Postie never permanently deletes mail; Trash is Gmail's normal, recoverable Trash.
Sign-in credentials are stored in your Mac's Keychain by the Google Sign-In SDK. Mail you have loaded is cached in a local database on your Mac. Signing out and deleting the app's data removes it. You can also revoke Postie's access at any time in your Google Account settings.
Postie does not sell, share, or transfer your data to anyone. Your data is not used for advertising, and it is not used to develop or train AI or machine learning models. Postie's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
